Race 2

#3 Alexandra Rose (5/2 ml)

Drysdale filly had been training sensationally into the Cash Call Mile, and it says a lot that the conservative trainer would drop her straight into that race for her American debut. She had tons of run while buried along the inside down the backstretch, but simply had nowhere to go. She made a sharp run to advance on the turn and into the lane, but she ran up behind horses again and had to wait. She flattened out thereafter, but i think it was because she got discouraged, and of course it wasn't easy to gain ground on the fillies who were in front of her anyway. That race was infinitely tougher than this one. Third-place finisher Price Tag is one of the best turf fillies in the country, second-place finisher Precious Kitten has returned to win, and the winner Lady of Venice (also one of the best turf fillies in the country) returned to run third in the Beverly D. Alexandra Rose catches a small field here, and shouldn't have any traffic issues to deal with. Figures very tough with a clear run.

Race 3

#4 Closing Argument (6/1 ml)

Florida invader was hammered down to 3/5 in his debut and won by open lengths. Negative that he was entered for a tag there (when he was apparently so highly-regarded), but he's not offered for a tag today and he comes in with some very sharp drills over the poly. Looks to have a good bit of speed, and there's not a ton of pace in here to challenge him on the front end. 37 Beyer should do wonders for the price.

HRT record:

11 for 41 (27%)

$104.20 mutuels ($9.47 avg)
