ANALYSIS: Five of these got together in the Grade 1 La Troienne here May 1 and the 2-3-4 finishers are included among them. Gold Medal Dancer lost a headbob for 2nd to Sheer Drama in that one, after grabbing the lead into the stretch. Both distaffers have finished in-the-money in four consecutive starts and each has won one of them. Both should get good
trips tracking the likes of invaders My Sweet Addiction and Yahilwa. ‘Addiction is shooting for the hat trick after knocking off three rivals in a the Grade 1 Vanity at Santa Anita May 9. She has moved forward since being introduced to the route game in February and has outside position on Yahilwa. That one has been touring the country since knocking off mid-level Allowance stock at Santa Anita Oct 29. She slumped this winter, but has returned to win a Grade 3 at Hawthorne and ran 2nd at Pimlico May 15. She dueled in that past one, but she can stalk the pace, too. Tiz Windy is making her second start since blinkers were tried in the May 1 common affair. She is making comeback start #4, was beaten less than
two lengths May 1 and has upset potential. My Sweet Addiction deserves respect and may be overlooked a bit in the wagering. We’ll start with her, but we’ll keep our out for value on the tote board. CLOSERS: Fastest in the stretch in recent races at or near this distance have been: Frivolous :36.1 – My Sweet Addiction :36.3 – Yahilwa :36.9
