I didn't see it coming but Summer Bird is the Belmont champion. What does that mean. Not much if we look at last years champ too. Its called a fluke win against average competition. The field featured only 1 G1 winner and many of the horses in the race qualified for allowance non winner of 2.

Again !!! The Derby mud winner got a quick pace and could not finish the deal. Non of these horses are in the same league as Quality Road and Rachel Alexandra.

In the Derby and The Belmont there was no real speed in the race and both times they went out quickly only to surrender. Any real speed in the race would have left these horses in their wake.

I had a rough day and only had 2 winners but what a great day for racing and I hope everyone had a good time with the Triple Crown races..... I can't wait until next year......
