Promising Kiaran McLaughlin trainee TRAPPE SHOT (Tapit) has returned to Belmont Park and will target the $150,000 Withers S. (G3) to be run on April 24, closing weekend at Aqueduct. The three-year-old chestnut debuted at Saratoga on July 29, and finished fifth after stumbling at the break. Given some time after that race, Trappe Shot broke his maiden at Gulfstream Park on February 21 by 10 1/4 lengths, then came back to trounce four allowance foes by 12 3/4 lengths a month later. thanks fb....ive been on this guy since i reported him after his maiden breaker.....he has a lot of talent but they need to be smart with him and i think they are doing the right thing by not pressing this guy for the derby....thanks for the update.....
