Del Mar 4th--Valley Cat(7) can graduate at today's level and 7 furlong distance if she gets a patient ride from Bejarano. She lost all chance when she bobbled badly, then came out and had her rear end turned sideways. It was significant trouble. Draw a line through that race. In Valley Cat's next to last race she was trying to rally from fifth when she got carried out badly to the top at least six wide(-2). She kept trying and figured to hang a bit near the finish.

Del Mar 7th--I like what Doug O'Neill is doing with Seeuat Sticknstein(3). He's stepping way up(a positive) and trying him long while testing the grass. We have to wonder if O'Neill may have got wind of this colt's better than looked drill at Hollywood Park on July 10 before he was sent to the seashore. Reportedly Seeuat Sticknstein galloped out large after posting a ho-hum official clocking of 1:02 2/5. That drill gives credence to today's stretch out. O'Neill claimed Seeuat Sticknstein from Mike Mitchell for $20,000 when he won that 5-1/2 furlong sprint.

The manner in which Seeuat Sticknstein won last time caught the eye. I loved his fourth to first spurt inside into the lane to win that race. Exiting that short sprint distance should find Joel Rosario placing him close up with the rails out 14 feet on the turf course. That should give Seeuat Sticknstein a bit of a head start while trying something he's never done before.
