horse Square Eddie Out Of Southwest
By Steve Andersen DRF.COM
ARCADIA, Calif. - Square Eddie, one of the leading 2-year-olds of 2008, has been sidelined with sore shins, trainer Doug O'Neill said on Thursday.

The injury was diagnosed on Wednesday and will keep Square Eddie sidelined for at least two weeks. Square Eddie was supposed to start in the $250,000 Southwest Stakes on Feb. 16 but he was not shipped on Thursday.

Square Eddie has made one start this year, finishing second in the Grade 3 San Rafael Stakes at Santa Anita on Jan. 17. Last fall, Square Eddie was second in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Santa Anita in October.
