I looked at Race 5 in some detail, and found it to be indecipherable. That being said, i do not like #4 Why Tonto. First off, it's abnormal for a Pletcher 2yo to be showing nothing but Churchill drills. Secondly, Pletcher has a terrible record over the last couple of Saratoga meets with 2yo's debuting on dirt. I believe he's lost with 12 of his last 13 such entrants who went off at 3/1 or less. As far as identifying the winner, it's probably worth noting that Eibar Coa takes the call for trainer Barclay Tagg aboard #1 Tools for the Job. Coa recently was aboard Tagg's impressive 8-length maiden winner Tale of Ekati, who also happened to break from the rail. #3 Burgenland Kid had a couple of heads-up drills with recent stakes entrant Shotten Heimer for trainer Jaime Sanders prior to his June 30 race @ Churchill. |
