Default Part of the Fair Grounds track "washed away" yesterday
They had to cancel the remainder of the card after Race 8. On Louisiana Champions Day, no less.

Supposedly the track is closed for training this morning while repairs are made, but will open for the race card. We'll see.

PS - I was on the Race 8 winner Speedacious ($11.20). Thank goodness they got that one in, lol.

Thanks Yorker, and welcome top the forum.

from the Fair Grounds website:

Sunday’s live racing program at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots has been cancelled due to unsafe track conditions. The state and track stewards made the final decision about 10:30 a.m.

“Despite a Herculean effort by our track maintenance crew, we were not able to get the racing surface to where it needs to be,” said Fair Grounds Vice President and General Manager Eric Halstrom. “It’s still a little heavy in spots and the recommendation was for more time to get the track ready. We just ran out of time. Our track crew will spend the afternoon and evening doing what they can to prepare our surface for racing on Monday.”

Live racing is scheduled to resume Monday with a nine-race program beginning at 1 p.m. The grandstand and all nine Fair Grounds Off-Track Betting locations are open Sunday for simulcasting from 15 tracks around the country—including Calder Race Course (first post 11:25 a.m. CST), Aqueduct Racetrack (11:30 a.m. CST) and Hollywood Park (2:30 p.m. CST)—plus nighttime racing from Australia (9 p.m. CST).
