w2w, I seriously doubt they will close....if that does happen, East Coast tracks will easily see a 20-30% decrease in handle....as we all know off track monies dwarf what is bet on track...and NYC OTB is the largest in the country by far... |

I've been pretty much shocked by all the happenings with NYRA and New York horseracing. Most recently they named an operator to put slots into Aqueduct, then they scrapped it after-the-face because of some political haggling. As far as the OTB's go, it's been mentioned (not just in New York) that simulcasting parlors are losing revenue because a lot of peole are betting over their computrers now.
