Default Moose....ready for Saratoga!
from the North Country Gazette:

SARATOGA SPRINGS—Bullwinkle was a bit early for the Saratoga Race Course if the female moose had plans on entering one of the races or maybe just being a spectator.

Officers for the state Department of Environmental Conservation tranquilized a moose at the track Monday after it wandered onto the grounds after first meandering through the business district of Saratoga Springs about 4 a.m.

The moose was seen lying down just inside the front entrance of the race course, seemingly waiting for officers to tranquilize her for relocation to the Adirondacks.

The track doesn’t begin its season until July 29.
