Despite his flame-job in the Pat O'Brien (blamed on a grabbed quarter), Midnight Lute will reportedly defent his title in the Breeders Cup Sprint. The Pat O'Brien was his only start this year, btw.

In other news, turf stalwart Red Rocks will now head straight to the Breeders Cup Turf after passing on the Monmouth Stakes last weekend.
