Pletcher said she wasn't acting right even in the paddock-HE IN NO WAY SHOULD HAVE RAN THAT HORSE-I LOST ANY RESPECT I HAD FOR THAT GUY.

It really comes down to the amount of people and personnel that were affected by such a poor decision. The horse suffered for having to run under these conditions and risk serious injury (and often times horses like this are never the same). The owner suffered for the above and the loss of opportunity to scratch her out and run her in near future. The bettors lost around $1 million dollars (including money used on her in the gimmicks). I have to agree with the investigation and the letter the owners wrote was brutally honest. As soon as they made the comment on TV, my friends and I were baffled why they didnt scratch her. As soon as they broke, we were quick to realize who broke 8 lengths behind the field.

Is it possible that Pletcher didn't want to have 2 different horses scratching at the gate in the Breeders Cup in back-to-back years?

its a joke...they knew something was wrong and still ran her...once again that gives horse racing a black eye and makes you think if some money was exchanged...
