Highly regarded speedball, Kantharos, entered today in 6 1/2 f race for 2yo. Field is terribly light as the Asmussen colt will only face 4 or 5 others. Expect 1/9 in this poorly drawn race. Most of the others are racing for a share of the stakes purse. Gomez takes the mount in place of injured Robbie A. In short, a race only for watching to see how fast this young colt really is, and we might not know due to the caliber of other horses in the race.

Anyone else think the official margin of victory (7 1/4 lengths) looked a bit generous? I thought he won by about 5, not that it makes much difference. Probably could've won by 7 if Gomez hadn't wrapped up on him.
