Teenage riding star Joe Talamo is scheduled to appear on Conan O'Brien's "Tonight Show" tonight, Monday, on NBC-TV at 11:30 p.m. Talamo missed his first Kentucky Derby mount when morning line favorite I Want Revenge was scratched the day of the race, but if it’s any consolation, the 19-year-old riding sensation gets to work the Derby winner, Mine That Bird, on Tuesday. “We had tried to ride the horse early in the year,” explained Talamo’s agent, Scott McClellan, “and I had met him (trainer Bennie “Chip” Woolley), and Joe had expressed an interest in helping him, if he needed someone to work the horse. So I asked Woolley, and he said it might be good.” Added an eager Talamo: “I can’t wait. I’m excited. I always love working a good horse like him. It will be a pleasure to get on him.” . . .
