Filly named Souma (6/1 ml) who is entered in Race 7 today. She broke from the rail and was scooting right out to the early lead, when suddenly she ducked sharply inward for some reason and dumped the rider. She immediately lost several lengths because of that, but then got back to business (sans rider) and rushed up the rail to go clear on the lead again. Obviously the frontrunners let her go at that point, because no rider wants to be anywhere near a loose horse, but nevertheless Souma went well clear of the pack, and apparently remained well clear for the duration of the race (never did see her again on camera). She's returned with two sharp workouts since then, so she looks no worse for the wear, and who knows how much she "won" by last time. If nothing else, she looks pretty speedy. Just a little info that you won't find in the PP's. Here's the video: YouTube - GULFSTREAM PARK, 2010-02-07, Race 7

Good find DC, She looks like she could have a good shot, her first race off the layoff looked encouraging it said she came on again and after dumping Bravo, she really came on again minus Bravo, she looks like she wants the lead and she will probably have it, two nice works after last outing, I think she's a good bet for $20 across the board. |

how about in the 8th....cozy lion 2nd off layoff...traffic problems ran on well and gets back javier who i love on the turf...the 1 will get a lot of action but if you look at the replay from the last race of cozy lion the jock had to check around the first turn because of the pace and the horse was fresh...if you watch the race last out you would wonder how this horse only lost by 1 length....only play at the gulf today...
