Default Indian Blessing ruled out of the F&M Sprint
from Racing Post:

Leading filly Indian Blessing has become the latest dirt-track specialist who will not be running at the Breeders' Cup, with trainer Bob Baffert ruling her out of the Filly & Mare Sprint.

The four-year-old finished second in last year's race to Ventura - despite her connections suggesting she does not appreciate all-weather surfaces.

Indian Blessing is a dual champion, having won Eclipse awards as America's top juvenile filly (2007) and top female sprinter (2008).

Explosive winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies back in 2007 on dirt at Monmouth, Indian Blessing worked 6f in 1m12.8s at Santa Anita on Sunday morning, after which trainer Bob Baffert ruled out a third trip to the Breeders' Cup.

"I think I'm going to pass," he said, disappointed at the work.

"She just doesn't like that track," he added. "What can you do? I'm not going to pre-enter because I don't want the temptation to change my mind."

Baffert was unsure if Indian Blessing, who beat Godolphin's Sara Loiise in a hard-fought Gallant Bloom Handicap at Belmont Park in her last, would make another start. She is to be bred next year.

I like Sara Louise an awful lot myself, but i think Ventura is going to be extremely tough to beat. She ran a career-best over the course-and-distance last year, and appears to be coming into the race much the same way this year.

I agree Ventura is gonna be tough for her to overcome. Sara Louise's running style, ability, lightly raced nature just gave me ALOT of positives for a play. Most enticing reason for me though was that Ventura and Indian Blessing were both bound to take tons of money and hopefully leave SL at > 4-1/9-2. Now, depending on who else shows up, I'm gonna have to settle for around 3-1 (granted these are all just speculations)

Baffert knew that she had little chance against the monster named Ventura!

The horse that beat Carlsbad last time out (Informed Decision?) was very impressive, and clearly prefers synthetic. Haven't looked into her status, but if she's entered she would deserve a hard look. So would Carlsbad, for that matter.

Carlsbad is not running, you can make a box Ventura and Informed Decision and wait at the window to collect.

I hadn't seen that yet, but i remember now that she's BC-ineligible and would have to be supplemented.

Speaking of which, i never did hear anything about D'Funnybone in that regard. Obviously he's running (barring injury), so either they're supplementing him or i was just mistaken about his status.

I was told her and Battle of Hastings would not run in the BC races. Will be talking to my Euro contact later this week and I will have all the down low on the Euros like last year when I crushed the BC Races. Keep a eye open in your email box as I will throw you some bones.
