I root hard for any horse who contracts that ghastly disease. They never make it, but first Kip Deville and now this? Great news followed by more great news. They're never really out of the woods, though. Not for quite a while, anyway. That's what got one of myt favorite horses of all time, Big Jag. He went over to Dubai, trounced the foreign sprinters in the Golden Shaheen, but contracted laminitis and never made it back to the States. Horrible story. And of course we all know what Barbaro went through. He appeared to be improving at one time also, then boom. It can turn very fast. That's why i always have guarded optimism when reading a story like this.
