Default Gomez released from hospital after Saturday's accident
from DRF:

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Jockey Garrett Gomez, taken to a local hospital after his mount in the final race on Saturday at Hollywood Park, the 2-year-old filly Bonnie Brown Eyes, fatally broke down near the sixteenth pole while leading the race, was released from the hospital about 6:30 p.m. Saturday night.

"He's sore. He's going home. Nothing's broken," reported his agent, Ron Anderson.

Gomez's was X-rayed for possible injuries to a shoulder and an elbow, according to Mike Mooney, Hollywood Park's publicity director.

Gomez was thrown forward from Bonnie Brown Eyes and wound up under the inner rail. He remained there until being removed from the track on a stretcher. He was taken straight to Centinela Hospital.

Bonnie Brown Eyes, trained by Mike Mitchell, was making her second lifetime start, both in maiden-claiming races. She had set the pace and tired to finish ninth in her debut. On Saturday, she appeared to be drawing away from the field when she badly broke down in her right front leg. She fell straight to the ground, hit her neck, fracturing it, and died instantly.
