Race 2 #8 Richer Gear (6/1 ml) O'Neill firster worked heads-up recently with Good Man Dan, who's entered in the Del Mar Futurity today. That being the case, i'm a little leery that this one is entered for a $40k tag. But he IS a gelding, and the only paid $5k for him. Race 3 #2 Relato Del Gato (5/2 ml) This horse comes off a hugely impressive performance on Pacific Classic Day, where he ran considerably faster early than Grade 1 sprinters Bordonaro/Greg's Gold on the same card. Previously, this horse had beaten the crap out of the high-quality sprinter Sailor's Sunset down @ Turf Paradise. Hard not to like this one. HRT record: 26 for 87 (30%) $246.30 mutuels ($9.47 avg) |

Wow, a ton of plays today... Race 6 #9 Hy Temp (15/1 ml) Abrams trained-and-owned firster has been working well for his debut, and mets a mediocre field here. Value play. Race 7 #1 Sindy With an S (10/1 ml) I'm still of the opinion this is one of the best female sprinters in the country. Unfortunately she drew the rail again (that's 3 races in a row now), but she won from the rail with this rider two starts back. Catches some good horses here, but i think she'll run very well. Race 9 #7 Leonides (5/1 ml) Hard trier has demonstrated a good closing kick in both races so far, and that should serve him well in this 7-furlong polytrack race that has a ton of speed lined up. Makes his first start overr the poly here, and comes off a layoff, but has been training well and looks ready to run. Should be coming late. Race 10 #7 Patch of Blue (7/2 ml) This colt took off in his last race like his tail was on fire. Huge closing kick, and should only improve in start #2, especially with the increase in distance. The 3rd-place finisher from his last race (Sir Lowry) came back to run very well yesterday. |

ATTENTION: Sindy With an S is actually the #2 horse. Sorry for the typo. Adding one more... Race 8 #8 Placid Lake (2/1 ml) Just got done watching the replay of this filly's last start, and she suffered thru a horrendous trip. She practically took a right-hand turn leaving the backstretch to circle the field about 10-wide into the stretch, and ran right past everybody exvcept for the winner, who was long gone. Should be tough here with any kind of clean trip. |

Like I posted at FP, this #8 horse will love the extra 1/2 furlong and Talamo will know just when to ask this horse. Race 8 - #8 wins for fun |
