You may have noticed that Bulls and Bears is not entered in the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes today. He came down with a fever and had to pass. Also, my #1 horse to watch Samardo, who reportedly was going to be entered in today's Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity directly out of his third-place maiden finish, is conspicuously absent from the entries. A quick search reveals that his last workout came on August 19, so it appears there may be an injury here.

That would be a pretty good assumption. I just don't think he handled the Saratoga surface very well at all. Expecting a return to his best form here.
