Hamels is still having trouble with his ankle, leaving the game in the 5th inning last time out despite having a shutout intact. In fact, he hasn't lasted longer than 6 innings all year, and the Philadelphia Inquirer speculates he'll be on a pitch count somewhere between 70 and 90 pitches tonight. Good chance the Braves can score a few runs tonight off a less-than-100% Hamels and whoever comes in to relieve him. Meanwhile, Braves pitcher Jo Jo Reyes is simply bad. In addition to his overall track record of poor performance, he tossed 20 innings vs. the Phillies last year, allowing a whopping 33 baserunners and 17 earned runs. Seems very likely that the Phillies can score some runs here, perhaps a lot of runs. Also, both pitchers are leftys, and both teams have fared better vs. leftys this year. The Phillies are 5-2 vs. lefthanders (compared to 9-10 vs. rightys), while the Braves are an impressive 7-3 vs. lefthanders (compared to 6-12 vs. rightys). Looking for a high-scoring game here.

Winner, as the Phillies beat the Braves 10-6.
