Default Belmont play from DiscreetPicks.com
Belmont - Race 6

#4 Wee Freudian (4/1 ml)

Interesting 2yo colt for Chad Brown here. He comes off a team drill with Papaw Bodie, who was last seen running second by a neck in a fast maiden-claimer for 3yo's on grass @ Saratoga on Aug 29. Also, in late August, Wee Freudian worked twice in a row with She's a Ketch, who came out of those drills (and off a year-long layoff) to win a 3yo maiden-claiming turf-sprint by open lengths on Sept 5 @ Saratoga. Brown's top maiden rider Castellano gets the call here (he was aboard most of Brown's winning firsters @ Saratoga), and this one looks live first time out of the box.

HRT record:

71 for 264 (27%)

$602.40 mutuels ($8.48 avg)

Wee Freudian got bumped pretty hard after leaving the gate ("knocked sideways" according to the offical chart), and then had to steady off heels a couple of times which resulted in him being dead-last early. He never really got involved after that, though he did show some late interest after switching to the outside in the final sixteenth. Not really sure what to think of him at this point, but obviously it was a disappointing result. He went off @ 7/2, btw.

He seemed to be a little choked down as well coming home and never really did have any clear running. I'm thinking he'll offer very reasonable odds next out after his finish here and may be worth a playback.

Could be. The price certainly figures to be right.
