Race 4 #4 Wonderous Day (5/2 ml) Hennig colt ran well in his route/turf debut, facing some traffic issues in the early going before putting in a good late rally to outfinish today's primary opponent (Sophie's Splinter). Desormeaux strings along, and he should be able to work out a better trip this time. The time of Wonderous Day's last effort compares okay with other similar races on that day's card. HRT record: 28 for 97 (29%) $264.10 mutuels ($9.43 avg) |

Wonderous Day went off @ 2/1 and got nosed on the wire. Ugh.

I'd keep an eye on those 2. I watched the replay and liked what I saw from both of them. Both looked a bit green (understandable for 2YO's), but liked the way they both pinned their ears back and fought through the lane. Wondrous shouldn't be a maiden much longer and the winner should do fine moving up his conditions.
