Im about to start handicapping for Saratoga for tommorow. I have watched the meet over the past couple of years, and handicapped for certain days but I havent capped the whole meet and didnt follow the stats for the track like winning trainer, jockey, and how the track plays on a daily basis, I figure it is a fair dirt track. So any insight or observations about how you think the meet might go is appriciated! Will post my selections in the morning and will have some write ups on what i was thinking!

SARATOGA IS CALLED THE GRAVEYARD OF CHAMPIONS FOR A GOOD REASON.SOME HORSES JUST TAKE TO THE TRACK.I LEARNED YEARS AGO THAT ANY HORSE CAN WIN THERE.DO NOT BE AFFRAID OF ODDS.YOU HAVE MANY PLAYERS THERE THAT JUST BET THE MEET.TOURISTS AND TOTES GALORE.I USE MY SAME SYSTEM THERE THAT I USE AT ALL NYRA TRACKS.GOOD LUCK AND MAY THE HORSE BE WITH YOU...w2w

The main track is slightly speed favoring, espescially at 6 furlongs.

The rail is dead at 7 furlongs.

Prefer middle movers and late runners at 7 furlongs.

Look for horses running late on the turf.

The outside post positions are nearly fatal on the inner turf . . . big bias to the inside 4 positions

Frequent thundershowers in the afternoon. The track bias can flip suddenly when it rains and/or dries out during the card. Keep an eye on these biases and react quickly when they occur - they may only last a couple of races as conditions change.

Two things I've learned over the years is that if you're playing the card live (on-line) be certain to play at a book that gives you rebates and avoid the publics top choice if and when possible. Remember, it's not how many races you get correct but how much money did you earn for the day.

For some reason, the phrase "Graveyard of Favorites" comes to mind when someone mentions SAR. The toteboard is useful since it shows the money in the pools - helpful if one's playing triples and or quads.

The comment about the track bias is something everyone should try to remember for any and all tracks one wagers upon. Very informative post, thanks for passing along your insights.
