I think he'll be pretty tough here, but sitting directly inside Macias is not a good spot for him. He figures to get a lot of pace pressure today. Reportedly he's taken to the grass pretty well though.

As stated before, i'm really interested in how this race might affect the plans for Twirling Candy. If Sidney's Candy wins, and any of you guys are able to listen to Sadler talking in the winner's circle after the race, i'd like to know what he says. I'll probably be watching live on CalRacing for that reason. Trying to catch something like that in a Vegas racebook is pretty dicey, especially with NFL preseason games being played at the same time. Usually i just check the Stakes Quotes section on the racetrack website, but in this case i'm afraid they might miss something (since it's not actually Sidney's Candy i'm hoping to hear about).

"Here's the post-race quote from Sadler regarding the future plans for Sidney's Candy and Twirling Candy:

"We have a lot of choices with a lot of different races."

Boy, that really clears things up...

I'd have to think that Sidney's Candy will be pointed at the BC Mile now (grassy version). I just don't see any way around it. Seems like 1 1/4 miles might not his cup of tea, and the BC Mile is waaaaay more prestigious than the BC Dirt Mile. He also may run better on grass, if today's race is any indication.
