You don't need to be a member of the NHC tour, as far as i can tell. First prize is a trip to Vegas and an entry in the contest, including airfare and hotel. Pretty sweet, especially when it's free to enter.

I remember a few years back when NYRA use to run a survivor pool for the NY circuit. It was a $10 entry fee and all you had to do was pick a horse each day to finish in the money.

i entered for kicks last year and had a shot to win it needed a 37 to 1 shot to come in on the last day in my last selection my horse opened up 2 at the top of the lane and i saw vegas in my mind but all for naught he faded and finished 4th but man what a rush!!!
